Big Ten Power Rankings Week 2: Ohio State Still On Top But Penn State Closing Gap

No. 9 Michigan State (Last Week – 7) ↓2
Michigan State needed to overcome a slow start to upend the pesky Bowling Green Falcons. Sophomore quarterback Brian Lewerke returned to the Spartans lineup after missing the end of last season with a broken leg. He threw for 269 yards and three scores as the Spartans pulled away in the second half.
Head Coach Mark Dantonio is looking to put last season’s 3-9 skid in the rear view mirror. The win Saturday over Bowling Green was a nice start.
This week Michigan State looks to put together a winning streak as they welcome in-state foe Western Michigan to East Lansing. The Spartans better be careful because this Broncos squad is no easy out. Last week Western Michigan went out to Los Angeles and nearly dethroned the the USC Trojans. The Spartans-Broncos game has all the making of a potential upset!
