Despite the cloudy and damp weather, around 70,000 fans piled into Beaver Stadium to catch a glimpse of the Nittany Lions. The day went about as expected, with some main starters seeing none, or very little, playing time. In the end, it was the Blue squad that came out on top by a score of 26-0.

The Blue-White game was the first real opportunity to see Stevens throw in a game situation.

Stevens completed 17 of 24 passes for 216 yards and three touchdowns. His deep ball looked good and he looked very poised in the pocket. Stevens’ performance int eh Blue-White game should give the coaching staff some peace of mind should something happen to starter Trace McSorley.

Honorable Mention: TE Jonathan Holland, WR Juwan Johnson

Defense: Defensive End Shareef Miller

Shareef Miller is one of several players with a chance to nab an open defensive end spot this year. As a redshirt freshman in 2016 he appeared in every game and finished with 22 tackles, including two sacks.

Miller had a strong showing in the Blue-White game as a member of the Blue squad. He made four total tackles and a game-high two sacks. Overall he had three tackles for loss on the day. Three players recorded seven tackles in the game, but Miller gets the nod for the top performer thanks to the sacks.
