What do the rosters look like for Penn State’s 2017 Blue-White game?

The annual Blue-White game at Penn State will mark the culmination of the spring practice season. The scrimmage is a chance for Nittany Lion fans to get a glimpse of the team for the new season. It’s also an opportunity to return to Happy Valley and pile into Beaver Stadium.

Penn State released the official rosters for the game Friday. Highlights of both teams can be found below. The full rosters can be seen at GoPSUSports.com.

The Blue squad is made up mainly of past letter winners and starters. Quarterbacks Trace McSorley and Tommy Stevens will both be in blue. As will running backs Saquon Barkley, Andre Robinson, Mark Allen, and Miles Sanders.

All of the top wide receivers — DaSean Hamilton, DeAndre Thompkins, Juwan Johnson, and Saeed Blacknall are all on the Blue team. Starting tight end Mike Gesicki and his backup Jonathan Holland are on the team as well.

The starting offensive line, joined by redshirt freshman Michal Menet, will protect the Blue line.

On defense, key starters such as Marcus Allen, Jason Cabinda, Manny Bowen, Parker Cothren, and Curtis Cothran will suit up for the Blue team. An interesting note is the fact that true freshman cornerback Lamont Wade is included on the team.

Starting punter Blake Gillikin and kicker Tyler Davis will handle kicking duties for the Blue.

Over on the White side, redshirt freshman Jake Zembiec will get a chance to show what he can do. He will be throwing to the likes of Irvin Charles, and fellow redshirt freshman Dae’Lun Darien. Johnathan Thomas and Josh McPhearson will likely handle the running duties for the white.

Steven Gonzalez, who started three games at guard last year, will likely be a leader of the White line. A name to watch on the White’s offensive line will be Will Fries, who nearly had his redshirt burned last year.

One to watch on the White defense will be defensive end Shane Simmons. Linebacker Jake Cooper and Cam Brown should see plenty of action for White. Transfer Jabari Butler will play cornerback for the White squad.
