Penn State Football: Former Nittany Lions Set to Participate in Pro Day
Several former Nittany Lions are set to participate in Penn State Pro Day on March 16.
Penn State Pro Day will give some former Nittany Lions a chance to perform in front of NFL scouts and team representatives. While the NFL Combine is more about performance tests for speed, quickness, and agility, Pro Day provides an opportunity to show some actual on-field skills. Many of the same tests will be done, but there will also be a chance to go through position-specific drills.
Wide receiver Chris Godwin and defensive end Garrett Sickels were the only two Penn State representatives to participate at the Combine in Indianapolis. Both performed well, but it was Godwin who really impressed. He put up a fast 40 time and raised his stock in the eyes of NFL scouts.
Both Godwin and Sickels will look to build on what they did in February and move up draft boards.
Aside from the two who were at the Combine in Indianapolis, nine other Nittany Lions will participate in Penn State Pro Day.

Defensive end Evan Schwan, linebackers Brandon Bell and Nyeem Wartman-White, and defensive backs Malik Golden and Jordan Smith will all represent the defense. Offensive linemen Brian Gaia, Wendy Laurent, and long snapper Tyler Yazujian will represent the offense.
Also working out will be walk-on running back Irvine Paye, who spent the past season working on the scout team. He made an appearance in the regular season finale against Michigan State and had a rush for seven yards and a 10-yard reception.
Perhaps the most intriguing story of Pro Day will be Wartman-White. The linebacker showed a lot of potential during his time on the field, but unfortunately his career was plagued by season-ending injuries in 2012, 2015, and 2016.
