Penn State Basketball: Nittany Lions Fall Short in Upset Bid With Overtime Loss to No. 14 Purdue
Penn State held a second-half lead but lost to Purdue in overtime Tuesday night.
The Penn State Nittany Lions had a chance at an upset of No. 14 Purdue at home Tuesday night, but were unable to finish. Holding a lead in the second half, the Nittany Lions couldn’t hang on, ultimately falling in overtime by a score of 74-70.
Back-to-back threes by Purdue’s Ryan Cline late in overtime killed any chance of an upset.
Penn State went up by two with just two minutes remaining in the extra frame when Lamar Stevens hit a jumper. However, the six unanswered points by Cline proved to be too much to overcome.
