Penn State vs. Minnesota Position Grades

Wide Receivers / Tight Ends
When your quarterback throws for over 300 yards, the receivers are the beneficiaries and they had a nice bounce back game from last week.
Chris Godwin led the wideouts with four catches for 97 yards and his diving first down catch on Penn State’s final drive was beautiful. DeAndre Thompkins caught four balls for 72 yards, while DaeSean Hamilton could only haul in three catches for 17 yards.
Welcome to Happy Valley, Irving Charles. His first catch as a Nittany Lion went for an 80-yard score. McSorley found him on the run and Charles shook off the Gopher defender before sprinting to the house.
Tight end Mike Gesicki actually led Penn State in receptions with five that went for 70 yards. He was actually very lucky on one catch that the officials gave him a nice spot for a first down when it looked short. I still want to see more from him in blocking.
