Mark Robinson

Safety Mark Robinson comes in at number two on the list.

Robinson was known for his hard hits and his ability to read quarterbacks’ eyes to make big plays while he was a Nittany Lion.

Robinson had an outstanding year in 1982. He recorded 70 tackles and four interceptions that year, earning consensus All-American honors.  The 1983 Sugar Bowl versus Georgia was perhaps his best game.  He was part of the great effort from the Penn State defense to stop Heisman running back Herschel Walker. Robinson himself recorded nine tackles and two interceptions in Penn State’s national championship victory.

Robinson was drafted in the fourth round of the 1984 NFL Draft and is one of the top Nittany Lion players of all time.
