Offensive Line:

Another forgettable performance from the maligned offensive line.  They couldn’t handle the quickness of the front seven of Georgia for most of the game.

The run blocking was pretty much non-existent but that’s become the standard.  The yards that Barkley or McSorley picked up was all on them, not the line.  The pass blocking was slightly better and believe it or not, they didn’t allow a sack.  However when Hackenberg was playing, he got rushed and roughed up.  He hurt his shoulder on a play where he had to scramble out of the pocket.  When McSorley was in the game, he was more mobile and would take off when the pocket collapsed.

This offensive line is only going to lose one starter for next year.  One would think it would look relatively the same next season, but it will be interesting during the spring and fall camps to see if any of the incoming recruits or redshirt freshmen are fighting for starting spots.

Also let’s hope the new offense will mask some of the inefficiencies of the line that John Donovan’s offense could not.
