Wide Receivers/Tight Ends:
It was a medicore day for the receivers. Hackenberg didn’t give them too many opportunities, but they mostly took advantage of what was thrown their way. They didn’t get a lot of separation again, however Michigan’s secondary is very good.
Chris Godwin and Brent Wilkerson tied for the most receptions on the day with three each. Godwin had a fantastic 38-yard catch and run on a fourth and 10 that extended a Penn State drive resulting in a field goal. He continues to make plays week after week.
Saeed Blacknall pulled in one catch but it was Penn State’s lone touchdown of the day. Blacknall made a great play to go back to the under thrown ball and he beat Michigan’s Jabrill Peppers to do so. In his career he has two touchdown catches and both have come in Penn State White Outs, the other being last year versus Ohio State.
Kyle Carter and Mike Gesicki had a catch each, with Carter dropping a ball he should have had in the first half.
