Secondary:

The secondary wasn’t very good on Saturday at Northwestern.  They didn’t help much in run support and they got burned in the passing game in crucial moments in the game.

Grant Haley is taking a lot of heat for this game.  He dropped what would have been a game-sealing interception and he followed that up with letting Northwestern wide receiver Austin Carr to get behind him and pick up 23 yards on a 3rd and 15 on Northwestern’s game winning drive.  Haley has been good this year and he’s only a sophomore so I won’t be too harsh on the kid.

It’s not like the group gave up a ton of yards through the air, but it just seemed like the secondary couldn’t come up with a play when it was needed.
