Quarterbacks:
After two very solid performances from Christian Hackenberg, this week was one to forget. He started the game 1 for 10 and Penn State only had one first down in their first five possessions and that was due to a roughing the passer penalty on Northwestern.
Hack improved in the second half and finished the day 21 for 40 for 205 yards. However, he threw his first interception for the first time since Week 3 and he had no touchdown passes. The turnover was costly, as the Lions were driving in Northwestern territory and looking to add to their one point lead.
He made some tremendous throws at times and showed why he’s a great pro prospect. At other times he looked completely off and it’s pretty frustrating to watch. Just when we all thought he was finally developing consistency. Hopefully the bye week will give him much needed rest and he can bounce back in what could be his final home game versus Michigan in two weeks.
