Wide Receivers / Tight Ends:

Hackenberg spread the ball around a lot Saturday, as nine different Nittany Lions had at least one catch.  It was great to finally see the ball being thrown around and my one minus for this unit is that it could have been a lot more if not for several dropped balls.

The first touchdown of the day went to Brandon Polk on a beautiful wheel route as Hack stepped into his throw and delivered a 39-yard bomb.  Take note John Donovan that we need to see more of Polk as a receiver and not just a runner on a jet sweep.  DaeSean Hamilton caught Hack’s second touchdown pass on another 39-yard pass.   Chris Godwin and Geno Lewis also had some good catches, finishing the day with a combined seven catches for 80 yards

It wasn’t just on the touchdown grabs, but the receivers were finally creating separation between them and their defenders and that’s something we had not seen much of this season.  The receivers took full advantage of a weaker Indiana secondary.
