Special Teams:
Another not so great outing for the special teams. I guess the Rutgers game was an outlier for punter Chris Gulla. On five punts against Army, he finished with an average of 32 yards, including an 11-yard shank. He also got hurt during a punt return and left the game. Dan Pasquariello punted one ball after that for 35 yards.
The good new is that kicker Joey Julius continues to have success. He was 2 for 2 on his field goal attempts and has been perfect on all his extra point attempts this season.
The return game didn’t do much Saturday, although DeAndre Thompkins did have a 25-yard kickoff return.
It’s going to have to be a better effort from this group going forward with conference play.
