Quarterbacks

Christian Hackenberg didn’t have the bounce-back game that we all hoped he would, however he at least stayed upright the entire game.   He finished the day 14 of 27 for 128 yards and one touchdown pass, his first of the season.  Also, no interceptions was impressive considering the conditions.

Hackenberg struggled some with his grip of the wet football and some passes came up short because of it.  He also wasn’t helped by his receivers on some drops.  It was nice to see him line up under center on several drives.

With the line giving him more time, Hackenberg made some great throws, including a 38-yard strike to Chris Godwin.  It was a serviceable performance, but we need to see more from the junior quarterback with conference play starting next week.
