Running Backs
Akeel Lynch was one of the very few bright spots today. 78 yards on 10 carries and a touchdown doesn’t look like much on the stat sheet, but the score came off a very nice 42 yard run that was also blocked well (imagine that).
The backs didn’t gain much after that and we’ll contribute that to the offensive line getting no push. I also think they weren’t called on enough.
Freshmen Mark Allen and Saqoun Barkley combined for 4 carries and 11 yards. There were several times backs were trying to help with protection and still, Hackenberg would get sacked.
