Eight months to prepare for that game. Eight months. All the excitement and optimism of the season came to a crashing end Saturday afternoon during Penn State’s 27-10 loss to the Temple Owls.

This wasn’t just an upset loss. It was an absolute domination by Temple for three quarters of the game. The game started off pretty well for Penn State. The first two offensive drives ended with 10 points. The defense held Temple to no first downs on their first three possessions and then the wheels completely came off the bus. I will definitely give credit where it is due and Temple came to play. Their reward was their first win against Penn State since before Pearl Harbor.
The Penn State offense was atrocious. The defense was constantly setup to fail but did itself no favors either. And the coaching? One word…ugly.
Penn State will return home and hopefully regroup when they take on Buffalo next Saturday at noon. It really can’t get much worse than what we saw against Temple, can it?
Let’s get to the first installment of this season’s game position grades. As you probably can guess, it isn’t pretty.
