The Fighting Illini are no stranger to White Outs, as Illinois has been Penn State’s opponent in White Game’s in two prior seasons. So right off the bat, older fans who have seen the Illini play in those two White Out games will probably not vote for the Illini.
While the two programs always play tough, blue collar football that comes down to the wire, the rivalry factor between these two is very limited especially when it comes to the minds of the fanbases. If chosen, the game would most likely be flexed to a primetime game but would be featured on the Big Ten Network in all likely hood. So while it would be a night game and available to most of the east coast, it most likely wouldn’t be a nationally televised game.
