Devon Still’s Daughter, Leah Still Officially In Remission
The emotional and heart-string tugging story of a former Penn State Nittany Lion’s daughter and her fight against stage four Neuroblastoma got brighter on Wednesday afternoon.
According to Devon Still’s Instagram account his daughter Leah is officially in remission of Neuroblastoma.
The Wilmington, DE native played under the legendary Joe Paterno at Penn State before getting drafted in the second round and 53rd overall in the 2012 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. Last June, Still announced that Leah was diagnosed with stage four Neurblastoma, at the time the two-year NFL veteran announced he would be putting his football career on hold, saying that his daughter’s fight was way more important than football. For the Penn State community, Leah’s story hit home as Penn State annually runs THON, a dance marathon that focuses on raising money for pediatric cancer.

Despite putting his career on hold, the Bengals originally signed Still to the team’s practice squad in order for him to still receive a weekly paycheck to help pay expenses. Despite being on the practice squad at the time, the Bengals decided to sell Devon Still’s jersey in order to raise awareness and money for pediatric cancer. The still family received amazing support from around the world including from other NFL teams and coaches such as New Orleans Saints head coach, Sean Payton. In Sepetember, the Super Bowl winning head coach bought 100 jerseys and distributed them to the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital as well as a local Boys & Girls Club. On September 25th, Still posted on his Instagram account that Leah underwent a surgery that removed all of her tumors as well as her lymph nodes and right adrenal gland, where her cancer originated.
Just last week, Leah in her ninth month of fighting her cancer, underwent one last surgery to remove one last tumor that was discovered. Then today, Devon Still released the best news that anybody who has followed the story could ever wish for. Leah is cancer free.
The entire Victory Bell Rings staff sends it’s congratulations and best wishes to Leah and the entire Still family!
