Former Penn State quarterback Michael O’Connor has made his decision on where he will continue his football career according to TSN reporter Farhan Lalji.
The former four-star quarterback will be transferring to the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. O’Connor a native of Canada moved to Florida while in high school and played his high school ball at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
It was speculated that O’Connor was eyeing a possible transfer to Syracuse or possibly Michigan State as he originally committed to the Nittany Lions in 2013 over the Spartans. The turning point of O’Connor’s short career at Penn State was when freshman QB Trace McSorely passed him on the depth chart prior to the start of the season.
One reason O’Connor may have decided to transfer to UBC instead of another college in the United State’s is that he will be able to have immediate playing time at UBC instead of sitting out a year due to NCAA transfer regulations.
