Defensive Line

Another standout day from the defensive line led to a big day for the defense as a whole. The D-Line helped produce six sacks with defensive linemen being credited with five of the six. Deion Barnes has been tremendous this year, and was a force yet again in this one. Barnes recorded two sacks and forced a fumble, while finding his way into the backfield countless times. Austin Johnson had probably his best game this season, producing six tackles and a sack. Toss in Anthony Zettel, CJ Olaniyan and stellar performances from Tyrone Smith and Garrett Sickels, and the line was dominant throughout. The group held Maryland to 1.1 yards per carry.
