Wide Receiver/Tight Ends

This was easily the worst performance by this group, to this point. Despite becoming the leading freshman receiver in school history, DaeSean Hamilton struggled with drops all day and finished with just five catches for 42 yards, well below his season averages. After a few weeks of sporadic usage, Geno Lewis finally got back into the mix adding five catches for 54 yards, but again, it wasn’t his best performance either. Kyle Carter (21 yards) and Chris Godwin (12 yards) got into the mix as well, but the lone bright spot to me was Jesse James.

James became the school leader in touchdown receptions by a tight end, with 11, on a beautiful catch over a defender in the end zone. James finished with five catches for 48 yards, making a few key catches on third down and looking athletic and elusive.

Hopefully, the offensive game plan moving forward will look to get him more involved.
