Penn State Football: Grading the Nittany Lions Through Five Games

With Penn State five games into its 2014 season and at its first bye week, VBR is giving out grades for the various position groups. It’s been an up-and-down season for new head coach James Franklin and this week, he gets a bye in order to work with his players and staff to figure out some of the issues that have surfaced.

If you just look at the Nittany Lions’ record, which is 4-1, you’d think most of these grades would be good. But that’s not the case as Franklin’s Penn State team has struggled in a couple of areas due to a lack of scholarships and depth issues.
So with that said, let’s look at how the different Penn State positions have done so far.
