Secondary

The numbers don’t look terrible, and they were solid in key situations, but the secondary didn’t play very well against Northwestern. Adrian Amos recorded an interception and Trevor Williams had a nice pass breakup near the goal line, but other than that the secondary didn’t make many “impact” plays.

The corners gave a huge cushion all day long and to an extent, Siemian was able to exploit it with a few nice throws. The secondary, and defense as a whole, tightened up in the second and third quarters, but were unable to stop the Wildcats in the first and fourth.

Other than the Rutgers game, the secondary hasn’t been making any game-changing plays. They’re the epitome of Penn State’s bend, but don’t break defense.
