DaeSean Hamilton continued his strong year, but the receiving corps as a whole wasn’t at its best on Saturday. Hamilton finished with six catches for 100 yards, keeping him at the top of the Big Ten in catches per contest. A lot of Hamilton’s production comes from quick hitters and short routes, but Hamilton can go deep as well, and he proved that on his career-long 51-yard reception over Northwestern defenders.

After an incredible start to the year, Geno Lewis had his share of struggles. The redshirt sophomore dropped a few passes and was hounded throughout the day finishing with just four catches for 33 yards. A far cry from the 100+ yards per game he had been averaging.

Jesse James made a few nice grabs, but other than that it was a tough day for the entire offense.
