Secondary

After such a strong performance against Rutgers, the secondary wasn’t nearly as impressive against UMass. The secondary allowed 263 yards through the air, albeit 77 of those came on a long touchdown during garbage time.

The unit played conservatively for most of the contest, breaking up only two passes, but still forcing UMass to complete just over 50 percent of  its passes. The coaching staff was able to cycle in some younger players, giving time to Mark Allen, Christian Campbell and Grant Haley.

It wasn’t a bad showing by the Nittany Lions secondary, but it wasn’t a great one either.
