Though it wasn’t pretty on Saturday night, the Penn State Nittany Lions moved to 3-0 under head coach James Franklin. Trailing the entire game at Rutgers, the Nittany Lions had to rely on another late drive led by sophomore quarterback Christian Hackenberg. With the offense struggling to find consistency again, it was the defense that played solid and kept Penn State in the game. The Nittany Lions recorded five interceptions and really shut Rutgers down in the second half, making it extremely difficult for the Scarlet Knights to move the ball down the field.
Although the coaching staff won’t be happy about a lot of things on the tape, one thing is certain – the Nittany Lions are undefeated and currently reside at the top of the Big Ten East division.
