Offensive Line –

It was another mediocre day for the offensive line as they continue to gel together.

The line was still unable to generate a push in the run game, leaving much to be desired in that aspect for the Nittany Lions. Running lanes were hard to come by for the backs and despite only being sacked once, Christian Hackenberg was pressured a handful of times.

Penn State was again unable to muster more than 3.5 yards per carry and something needs to give quickly. In college football, with a 12-game schedule, Penn State doesn’t have a lot of time to figure things out on the offensive line.

The line did look better in pass protection, giving their young quarterback time on a decent amount of his attempts. The line is still a work-in-progress, but for Coach Franklin and the team’s sake, they better progress quickly.
