Mississippi State at Alabama (-23.5)

Believe it or not, the Bulldogs and Crimson Tide meet as undefeated teams.  However, Mississippi State faces its first true test of the season, and what a test it will be.  Can the boys from Starkville pull off the upset of the year, or does the Tide keep rolling towards another title?

Matt – Alabama

I have been waiting for Mississippi State to be exposed all year, and I don’t think there is any doubt that happens this weekend.  I haven’t added up the overall won-loss record of their opponents, but it can’t be good.  Couple that with a road game in Tuscaloosa, and it will get bad, and fast, for the Bulldogs.  That is a lot of points, but quite honestly, I think the Tide cover it handily.

Tim – Alabama

That’s a lot of points to lay by a team that isn’t really known for their prolific offense, but Mississippi State is about to get exposed and Bama is tired of the hype around the other teams in the conference. Look for a statement game from Saban and the boys this weekend. Roll Tide.

Craig – Mississippi State

Alabama wins this one but I will go out on a limb and say MSU keeps it within 23. I have no idea why, just that I don’t buy into MSU which means they will hang around to spite me.

Corey – Mississippi State

I’m not quite sure I get this spread!  I know that ‘Bama is at home and they are good, but Mississippi State is not getting the respect they deserve.  Do I think they will win in Tuscaloosa, no.  But, I do think that their 25th ranked defense (195.6 ypg) and 27th ranked scoring offense (36.7 ppg) compares favorably with Alabama’s top-ranked defense and 14th ranked scoring offense (41 ppg).  Mississippi State will play well enough to cover the spread.
