Michigan (-3) at Purdue
Coming off a much needed bye week, Michigan visits Purdue to kick off Big 10 play for both teams. In both early season tests, Michigan fell flat, while Purdue closed non conference play with a 3-1 mark, with the only loss coming in a close 20-17 game in South Bend.
Matt – Purdue
Purdue has been an early season darling for many, coming within a field goal of a 4-0 start. Michigan has been the poster child for the Big 10’s early season latest early season flop, being embarrassed in prime time against both Alabama and Notre Dame. I’m not drinking the Black and Gold Kool Aid just yet, but I do like the Boilers getting 3 at home. Denard and the Michigan offense will put up points, but I’m not sure they can stop a pretty good, and balanced, Purdue offense.
Tim – Purdue
I have no explanation for this but Michigan -3 coming off a bye week against a team who just got exploited by Marshall seems like the easiest bet ever. Trick is, that’s exactly what Vegas wants you to think. Give me the Boilermakers, at home, getting three…and your finest Oktoberfest pint.
Craig – Purdue
I have 3/4 picks taking points and I’m going underdog here again. This pick is tempting Michigan — prove to me that you are for real. Purdue is no slouch and played ND better than either Michigan school did. Don’t be surprised if Purdue wins this one for the Leaders.
Corey – Purdue
A very intriguing match-up in this one. Michigan still has the glitz and glitter of being the media darling, but they have not played like it. In their losses they have been exposed as a one-dimensional team unable to stop making mistakes and shooting them in the foot. Purdue is a last second drive by Notre Dame from being unbeaten. Caleb TerBush has been slinging the ball all around the joint for Purdue and Akeem Shavers has been doing a good job on the ground. Danny Hope may have his most prolific offense since he took over the reigns. I see this as another upset as Purdue tries to plant the flag that they are the best team in the Leader’s Division. Plus, since I couldn’t get a single pick right last week, how can I go against a team that is led by a coach with the last name of Hope…right?
