Georgia at South Carolina (-2.5)

In the first of two big time clashes in the SEC, Georgia visits Columbia in a battle of 5 vs. 6.  Georgia held off Tennessee at home last week for a close 51-44 win, while South Carolina was slow out of the gate in the first half, before pulling away on the road against Kentucky.  Can the talented Gamecocks’ defense slow down what has been a prolific Bulldog offense to this point?

Matt – Georgia

I could make a case for either team in this game, and typically I’d go with the home team in such games.  But, I love Georgia’s two-headed rushing attack with Keith Marshall and Todd Gurley, who have combined for nearly 1,000 yards rushing and 14 TDs on the year.  Aaron Murray will need to find a new favorite target at receiver with Michael Bennett’s torn ACL, but big play threat Tavarres King and Marlon Brown will pick up the slack. In the end, Georgia just has too much talent on offense, and South Carolina won’t shut them all down.

Tim – South Carolina

This is one of those great SEC games that I’m supposed to hate as a northerner. Two solid teams vying for a spot in the SEC championship in the first week of October. Man do I love college football! I’ve been tooting the Gamecocks horn all season and I like them to make a statement here. Home SEC teams. Write that down.

Craig – Georgia

Georgia let Tennessee stay close for longer than expected, but we got to see that they can put up points and have a nice running game. I just feel that UGA is a better, more talented team than USCe.

Corey – Georgia

My gut says Georgia, the numbers and my head say South Carolina.  This is a greats SEC East match-up of two talented teams.  On one side you have the nations 11th rated rushing offense, in Georgia, led by All-SEC Freshmen Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall against South Carolina, the 8th rated rush defense, led by the defensive front four including All-American candidate DEs Jadeveon Clowney and Devin Taylor. Georgia QB Aaron Murray will be without the services of the teams leading receiver Michael Bennett after tearing an ACL this week so look for Tavarres King to even more important for the Bulldog passing attack..  In the end, I think the home crowd helps the Gamecocks to pull it out late, but the Bulldogs will cover.
