Boise State at Michigan State (-7)

Both teams begin life after school legend quarterbacks as Boise has to replace Kellen Moore and Michigan State looks to move on from Kirk Cousins.  East Lansing will be hopping on Friday night.

Matt – Michigan State

Both teams are breaking in a new QB, but Sparty gets to do it at home, and with one of the best defenses in the country.  I’m not crazy about picking MSU, but 7 points isn’t a lot, especially in East Lansing.

Tim – Michigan State

I don’t love Michigan State but I think their defense will be enough to slow down a Boise State team replacing the all-time winningest quarterback in college football history.

Craig – Michigan State

This is not the Boise State we are used to. Kellen Moore won’t be leading the Broncos and Michigan State’s defense is easily top 10 in the country. I see MSU moving the ball methodically behind LeVeon Bell, while the defense frustrates Boise’s first-year starting QB Andrew Maxwell.

Corey – Michigan State

This will be coach Chris Petersen’s stiffest challenge as he has to replace QB Kellen Moore and RB David Wilson and WR Tyler Shoemaker.  Michigan St. is poised to make a run at the Big Ten title as well as potentially a national title behind one of the best defenses in the nation.  If this game was played last season, it would have been an even better matchup with offensive fireworks galore.  I gotta give the nod to Sparty.

Chris – Michigan State

This one would have been even better a year ago.  Both teams have plenty of questions to answer, especially at QB as Boise looks to replace Kellen Moore, and Sparty has to deal with life after Kevin Cousins.  A raucous home field advantage in East Lansing gives Sparty enough to cover.
