In addition to bringing you coverage of every Penn State game this season, VBR will also be updating you on how the rest of the conference does each week. This post will be a place you can find scores and the conference’s best performers of the week.

Week 1 was a busy one in the Big Ten, as every team was in action. Several teams started the season early by playing games on Thursday and Friday, while the rest of the conference finished up on Saturday. Here’s a quick recap of the action.

Passing Yards- Christian Hackenberg (PSU), 454 yards

Receiving Yards- Geno Lewis (PSU), 173 yards

Rushing Yards- Tevin Coleman (IU), 247 yards

Total Tackles- Michael Caputo (Wisc.), 15 tackles

Every team in the East division was victorious, so there’s currently a seven-way tie at the top. That is sure to change next week, as some teams start to face tougher competition. In the West division, five teams are currently tied at the top, with only Wisconsin and Northwestern suffering losses.
