Penn State Football Morning Briefing: Mike Hull Previewed, Penn State Backfields Among Best in Conference, and Other News

In Friday’s Penn State news, the preseason honors continue to come for the Nittany Lions. Earlier this week, quarterback Christian Hackenberg, cornerback Jordan Lucas and tights ends Jesse James and Kyle Carter were all named to preseason award watch lists.

On Thursday, offensive tackle Donovan Smith landed on the watch list for the Outland Trophy. Elsewhere, linebacker Mike Hull is previewed and PennLive ranks running back Akeel Lynch as the No. 24 most important player for the 2014 season and there are several notes on the Penn State recruits participating in The Opening. Finally, Black Shoe Diaries calls the four-overtime thriller against Michigan one of its favorite games and the Big Ten Network ranks Penn State’s offensive and defensive lines among the best in the conference.
