Penn State Football Morning Briefing: Jonathan Warner Previewed, Hackenberg a Breakout Star and Other News

This week’s Penn State football news has been a bit on the light side. There’s been a little talk of recruiting and the coaching staff has been at camps, but beyond that, there hasn’t been much going on. Consider this the lull before the craziness begins in August. At any rate, there are still plenty of player previews going on. The most recent ones done are of two players who will be reserves in 2014, offensive lineman Tom Devenney and wide receiver Jonathan Warner. Warner, the son of Penn State legend Curt Warner, could find some solid playing time this season due to a lack of experience at the wide receiver position. Elsewhere, There’s bad news for UMass when it takes on Penn State this fall and the annual Lift for Life has been scheduled. Finally, there’s talk that quarterback Christian Hackenberg could be the breakout college football star of 2014.
