Three former Penn State Nittany Lions were selected in the 2014 NFL Draft. However, several others were singed shortly after the draft ended as undrafted free agents.
Heading into the draft, it was expected that Penn State would have at least three players drafted. Wide receiver Allen Robinson went in the second round to the Jacksonville Jaguars, defensive tackle DaQuan Jones was taken in the fourth round by the Tennessee Titans and guard John Urschel went in the fifth round to the Baltimore Ravens.
The following list shows the former Nittany Lions who were not drafted, but still fortunate enough to land as free agents on NFL teams. Be sure to check back frequently as the list will be updated. Offensive lineman Adam Gress accepted a tryout invitation from the Pittsburgh Steelers. Safety Malcolm Willis is getting a tryout with the San Diego Chargers.
UPDATE: Gress is trying out with the New York Giants on Wednesday.
Note: Linebacker Khairi Fortt, who transferred to California after the NCAA sanctions, was selected in the fourth round by the New Orleans Saints. Running Silas Redd, who transferred to USC, went undrafted, but signed with the Washington Redskins. Kicker Anthony Fera, who transferred to Texas has signed a contract with the Miami Dolphins.
