Many Penn State fans were anticipating that Tuesday would be a big day for recruiting, as two big targets were expected to announce their college choices. First it was 4-star offensive tackle Sterling Jenkins who decided to become a Nittany Lion. Now, in continuing with the successful day, 4-star quarterback Brandon Wimbush announced he’d be playing his college football in Happy Valley.
The high school star from Jersey City, New Jersey is one of the best available dual-threat quarterbacks for 2014 and is ranked No. 107 in the ESPN300. He recently impressed in Washington, DC at the Nike Elite 11 Camp.
Wimbush is a great addition to a Penn State team that has just three quarterbacks on scholarship. Christian Hackenberg and Michael O’Connor are currently on the team. 2014 recruit Trace McSorley will enroll in August.
Before committing to the Nittany Lions, Wimbush entertained offers from some of the top schools in the nation. He was fairly secretive during his recruiting process and didn’t really let his final list be known until he posted it on Twitter on Monday.
I will be committing with @BleacherReport tomorrow evening… #VTech#OSU#Miami#PSU#BC

With the verbal commitment from Wimbush, the Nittany Lions, led by new head coach James Franklin, have dominated in recruiting for 2015 and are building a solid foundation for years to come. With the newest additions, Penn State is currently ranked as the No. 2 class by 247Sports.com.
