Holland is rated as the No. 19 prospect in the state of Maryland according to 27Sports.com. He joins fellow Penn State commits Adam McLean and Kamonte Carter as recruits from Maryland. According to Sean Fitz of Lions247, Holland made a visit to Happy Valley on Saturday.
Holland garnered a lot of attention during his recruiting process and received offers from several schools. Some of those included: Georgia, Clemson, West Virginia, Pittsburgh, Rutgers and Iowa. At Penn State, he was recruited by Charles Huff and Sean Spencer. With this most recent commitment, Spencer continues to prove, like former defensive line coach Larry Johnson, that he’s capable of recruiting well in Maryland.
Penn State now has 13 verbal commitments for the 2015 class. With Holland’s decision, the Nittany Lions are ranked as the No.2 class in the nation according to 247Sports.com, jumping past Auburn. Alabama currently has the No. 1 class for 2015.
