According to Ryan Dunleavy of MyCentralJersey.com, Penn States Big Ten opener with Rutgers University will be scheduled for a prime time start.
The Rutgers versus Penn State matchup, which is scheduled from Saturday, September 13th, 2014 is scheduled for 8pm and will be televised on the Big Ten Network. The Big Ten Network will release its full schedule of primetime televised games later this afternoon.
Penn State will take a 22-2 all-time series record into High Point Solutions Stadium in Piscataway, New Jersey. This will be the first meeting between the two teams since 1995 when PennState won 59-34.
Rutgers, who officially joins the Big Ten on July 1st, will take on the Nittany Lions in their first game in the Big Ten Conference.
The Nittany Lions open their season in Dublin, Ireland versus UCF before they come home to take on Akron and then travel to New Jersey to take on Rutgers.
Rutgers will open their season at Washington State and then face Howard at home before their Big Ten slate beings with Penn State.
In which is sure to be a hot ticket, Penn State fans will come out in masses to watch their beloved Nittany Lions welcome a future rival to the Big Ten.
With the announcement of this game, this will be Penn States third primetime game of the season as they will take on Michigan in Ann Arbor on October 11th and Ohio State at home on October 25th.
