The 2014 Penn State football season is still a few months away, but the Nittany Lions are currently in the middle of spring practice. Head coach James Franklin held a press conference before the start of practice on Monday and outlined some of the changes to look for with the Nittany Lions. Several players have switched positions due to need at different areas of the depth chart. Franklin and his staff made the changes prior to the start of practice after reviewing tape on the players.
Position changes are nothing new in college football, as often times players come to a program with experience playing multiple positions during high school.
As practice rolls on and things like injuries happen, there could be more changes made to the roster before the Nittany Lions open the 2014 season in Ireland against Central Florida. Below is a current list of players who are now listed at different positions on the official roster.
Aside from the changes listed there were minor changes made to some of the offensive linemen. Anthony Alosi is now just listed as a guard instead of guard/tackle like last year. Angelo Mangiro is now solely a center, as is Tom Devenney, who was listed just as an offensive lineman in 2013. Evan Galimberti and Andrew Terlingo were both listed as offensive linemen in 2013 and will officially be guards this season.
VBR will have continuing coverage of spring practice and continue to bring you the latest news leading up to the Blue-White Game on April 12.
