With the regular season over, it’s time to focus on tournament play. The Big Ten Tournament starts on Thursday in Indianapolis at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. All 12 Big Ten teams participate in the tournament and are seeded based on regular season standings. The Penn State Nittany Lions finished the regular season in 10th place in the conference and will take on No. 7 Minnesota in a rematch of Sunday’s regular season finale.
The tournament kicks off at noon Thursday with No. 8 Indiana taking on No. 9 Illinois. Following that game will be No. 5 Ohio State taking on No. 12 Purdue. The evening session that day starts at 6:30 when the Nittany Lions face the Golden Gophers. The first day will close with No. 6 Iowa against No. 11 Northwestern.
Action continues on Friday when the afternoon session starts at noon. The No. 1 Michigan Wolverines start things on Friday against the winner of the Indiana/Illinois game. That contest will be followed by No. 4 Nebraska taking on the winner of Ohio State and Purdue. The Friday evening session begins at 6:30 with No. 2 Wisconsin meeting either Minnesota or Penn State. The night will be capped by No. 3 Michigan State against the winner of the Iowa/Northwestern game.
The semifinals will take place Saturday afternoon with the championship game starting at 3:30 p.m. ET on Sunday.
Thursday and Friday’s games will air on ESPN, ESPN2 and BTN. The weekend semifinals and final will be shown on CBS.
