When Penn State head coach James Franklin said he wanted to “Dominate the state,” in recruiting, he wasn’t joking. Of the six current verbal commitments for the 2015 class, four of them are players from the state of Pennsylvania. Two of those Pennsylvania players, linebacker Jake Cooper and defensive end Ryan Buchholz gave verbal commitments to the Nittany Lions on Monday.
Bucholz took to Twitter to announce his choice.

Buchholz is from Great Valley High School in Malvern and is a 3-star defensive end recruit. A school can never have too many defensive linemen and Penn State is targeting some of the best in the country. Kamonte Carter, a 4-star defensive end, also committed for 2015. Buchholz entertained offers from schools such as Maryland, Northwestern and Pittsburgh, but ultimately chose the Nittany Lions.
Cooper hails from Warminster and attends Archbishop Wood. He follows high school teammate Ryan Bates, a 4-star offensive lineman, who previously committed to the Nittany Lions. Cooper is rated as a 3-star recruit and fills a need at inside linebacker. He will look to make a name for himself and join the long tradition of outstanding linebackers at Penn State.
Aside from Buchholz, Cooper and Bates, 4-star running back Saquon Barkley is another Pennsylvania kid who will be joining the Nittany Lions in the fall. Franklin is off to a great start in his first recruiting class at Penn State and will look to continue to add top talent.
