Currently, 247sports has Thompson ranked as the best recruit in the 2015 class. It’s no surprise that the Georgia high school star has received several offers from some of the top programs in the country. Alabama, Auburn, Florida State and Georgia have all made offers to land the stud defensive lineman.
Already at six-foot-four inches and 290 pounds, he has the size and the potential to be a dominant player at the collegiate level.
According to 247sports, Thompson has been waiting on an offer from Penn State.
The Nittany Lions will try all they can to land Thompson after failing to lose a top lineman recruit in 2014. 4-star defensive tackle Thomas Holley had committed to Penn State, but changed his mind after former head coach Bill O’Brien left for the NFL.
There is a lot of excitement surrounding recruiting at Penn State as new head coach James Franklin has shown the ability to be a top recruiter when he was at Vanderbilt. Now as the head man of the Nittany Lions, Franklin is continuing to show how well he can recruit.
