Running back Nick Scott made an early commitment to Penn State, letting his choice be known last February. The 3-star recruit who played his high school ball in Fairfax Virginia never waivered in his commitment, even after the coaching change that took place in January. Scott’s decision to head to Penn State was made official today when he signed his letter to join the Nittany Lions.

Scott sent out a series of Tweets in January hinting at his excitement of James Franklin becoming the new coach of the Nittany Lions. When I asked him if he was still firm in his decision he told me, “Of course, Penn State is my dream school.”
The running back is listed as the 10th-best all-purpose back on Rivals. Lions 247 lists Scott as an athlete/running back, and ranks him 555th among all recruits nationally. Currently the Nittany Lions are stocked at running back with Akeel Lynch, Bill Belton and Zach Zwinak.
Don’t be surprised to see Scott converted to another position, such as slot receiver, much like 2013 running back recruit Richy Anderson was moved to wide receiver. Aside from Scott, the 2014 class also includes running back Mark Allen and Jonathan Thomas. Keep an eye on Scott as he develops. He could turn into a versatile player who helps fill the depth chart for the Nittany Lions.
