RB Bill Belton

Matthew O’Haren- USA TODAY Sports

Ok, so Bill Belton was on this list last week, but he remains a player to watch anytime the Nittany Lions take the field. Belton has put together a solid season thus far, rushing for 467 yards and three touchdowns. He also has 95 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

In the last outing against Ohio State, Belton was one of the few bright spots for the Nittany Lions, rushing for 98 yards on 22 carries. Belton got the start over usual starter Zach Zwinak, who finished the game with just eight yards and a fumble.

This weeks opponent, the Illinois Fighting Illini, have not done a good job stopping the run this season. Illinois is giving up an average of 139.4 yards on the ground and rank 11th in the Big Ten. I expect Belton to once again get the start and have a big day back in Beaver Stadium.
