Penn State Football: Huge Week Makes Nittany Lions Big Players in Recruiting

Despite major NCAA sanctions, the Nittany Lions and head coach Bill O’Brien were still able to bring in a solid recruiting class for this current season. Recently, the scholarship restrictions were reduced, setting the stage for what has happened over the past week. The Nittany Lions have added three new recruits who were all committed or expected to go elsewhere.

Landing three recruits who had intentions of going somewhere else is a huge win for Penn State. It means that the school is, and will continue to be, a huge player in recruiting for the top players.

The first recruit to verbally commit to Penn State this week was tight end Mike Gesicki, who was all but set on attending Ohio State. Gesicki, a 4-star prospect from New Jersey, decided to come to Happy Valley after attending the thrilling victory over Michigan.

A few days after Gesicki committed, the Nittany Lions had another recruit choose to come to Penn State. 3-star running back Johnathan Thomas, who committed to the University of Maryland in May, decided to flip his decision and join the Nittany Lions.

Penn State’s hot streak in recruiting continued on Tuesday when linebacker Jason Cabinda changed his mind. Cabinda, who was previously committed to Syracuse, is rated as a 3-star recruit. According to reports, Cabinda decided to flip after attending the game against Michigan in Beaver Stadium on October 12th.

Cabinda could be an important recruit, as the Nittany Lions are thin at the linebacker position.

With all of the excitement now surrounding Penn State, there’s a chance that even more top recruits could decide to join the Nittany Lions. 4-star recruit Thomas Holley, who’s one of the top defensive linemen in the class, now has the Nittany Lions near the top of his list.

Based on recent success on the recruiting trail, there’s a good chance that Holley will playing in Happy Valley next season.

Just a short time ago, after the sanctions were handed down, it looked like Penn State Football was going to be down for a while. Fortunately for the Nittany Lions and their fans, things have started to turn for the positive quickly. O’Brien has done a great job recruiting and now, with a little more breathing room, he’s doing an even better job.

Penn State is clearly a major player on the recruiting trail.

Things would have been much better if it wasn’t for our nation’s dishonest media, once revered by our parents and grandparents, and the defunct NCAA! When you have horrendous cowards running the BoT, hiding or as we in Pennsylvania say, “BUNKERED DOWN”, a new leadership style straight from Washington, D. C. to the cowards in State College! If we had real leadership somebody diffenitly would have asked for the facts to come out instead of hiring the Freeh group, which was requested by the NCAA, and now we’re all finding out that the NCAA were contacting the Freeh group quite abit about the report they were writing! So let’s see if the judge gives US a bite of the NCAA Apple! If the judge passes the Paternos lawsuit then all sanctions could be over! Too bad the NCAA lied about one of the most prestigious University in America but when you mess with JoePa you mess with almost everyone of US, minus the cowards and the propaganda pushers that rely on the “dumbing down of America “. Have a great day but remember if it weren’t for lies from the NCAA and our blogging media and the cowards that hid, our football team would not be able to demonstrate what JoePa really built with integrity, faith, and honor here in the middle of the great state of Pennsylvania!
