The raucous atmosphere at the Penn State-Michigan game continues to be talked about, and continues to be dividends for the Lions, who according to Ryan Syder of BWI, received a verbal commitment from New Jersey linebacker Jason Cabinda on Tuesday evening.

Cabinda is rated as a 3-star player on 247, and has previously committed to Syracuse in early July. After Michigan LB Jared Wangler decommited from PSU in August, Penn State made Cabinda a big priority to fill at least 1 linebacker spot in the 2014 class. He picked up his offer in late September, visited for the Michigan game, and committed last night. Other than the Orange, Jason held offers from Boston College, Maryland, and UConn, among others.
247 considers Cabinda an athlete, but it is widely expected that he will slide in at linebacker in college. At 6’1, 220 lbs as a high school senior, a spot in the middle of the PSU defense does not seem like a stretch. Jason will join Delaware native Troy Reeder as the only other linebacker in the class at this point, and the 15th member of the class overall.
Welcome to PSU, Jason!
