Evil Bill O’Brien’s Weekly Pick Six To Go – Week 4

When it rains it pours.  Last week I went 3-3 and we lost to Central Florida.  Virginia Tech squeaked by my upset special, but Nebraska and Texas laid eggs.  That being said, the EBOBsled is ready to roll this week.  In another week of meager games, I struggled to find 6 games worth picking.  I even resisted the temptation of picking Pitt at Duke.   That being said, here are 6 winners.

Arizona State (+7.5) at Stanford

Arizona State was the beneficiary of poor PAC-12 officiating last week.  Wisconsin should have had another play to kick the game winning FG, but maybe Wisconsin should have taken a crack at the end zone and not left it to the incompetent referees.  ASU is a decent team, but Stanford at home will be too tough.  Basically, I just want these teams to stay healthy so they can both embarrass USC when the time comes.

Stanford 24 Arizona State 18

Tennessee (+16) at Florida

This used to be a can’t miss college football game.  Now it’s a buried SEC game with Florida as a big favorite.  Tennessee is still serving their punishment for actually hiring Lane Kiffin, which is a mistake that may haunt them for a few more years.

Florida 19 Tennessee 2

Boise State (+3) at Fresno State

Seeing Boise as a road dog in conference is an odd sight, but I think it’s deserved too.  After seeing them vs. Washington, this is a rebuilding year it seems for the Broncos.  I am not sure a 52-21 win over Rutgers is the best litmus test to judge Fresno, but a home game vs. a team they are eager to beat is a pretty good combo.

Fresno State 46 Boise State 42

Michigan State (+7) at Notre Dame

This game is going to be brutal to watch, so I won’t.  MSU’s offense is something out of a horror show and ND is proving that they are a much different team from last year.  Michigan State will struggle to score (most obvious thing I could type) and though they traditionally play ND tough, it won’t matter now.

Notre Dame 21 Michigan State 9

Missouri (-2) at Indiana

An SEC team favored by 2 at a B1G team.  SEC honks will quickly dismiss this and blame Missouri’s old Big-12 ties here.  Indiana is our next opponent so it will be interesting to see how they do here.

Indiana 39 Missouri 32

Upset Special – Utah State (+7) at USC

I should just pick against USC each week and ensure a winning record.  I know nothing about Utah State, but can pretty much guarantee they are better coached.  This may be the straw that breaks the camels back.

Utah State 24 USC 21

YTD Record – 12-6 (0-3 Upset Special)
