It’s game week, you guys! For the first time since….way too long (November 26, 2012, to be exact), it’s Monday of a Penn State football game week. The opposition is of course the Syracuse Orange, and the venue is MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. We will dive deeper into this one as the week goes on, but here are the key points as we work our way towards Saturday afternoon.
- Kickoff – 3:30
- TV – ABC/ESPN2 – Coverage Map
- Coaches – Bill O’Brien (2nd year, 8-4) vs. Scott Shafer (1st year)

In the time since we previewed the Orange a couple of weeks ago, it has become apparent that Shafer will be choosing between Oklahoma transfer Drew Allen, or Terrel Hunt at quarterback, with Charley Loeb falling out of the race. My money is on Allen, but we won’t likely know until Saturday, as Shafer has closed practice and given no indication he’ll be giving the Lions any idea who will be under center this weekend.
Penn State of course has their own quarterback question that is yet to be answered, and after giving indications he would name a starter before game week, Bill O’Brien has backed off that, and given no new timeline. Both QBs should play on Saturday though.
We will be updating this story all week with additional news and notes leading up to Saturday’s kickoff.
HAPPY COLLEGE FOOTBALL SEASON!!!
