Starting today and continuing for the next few weeks, we will be taking a look at some of the biggest names on Penn State’s recruiting board. Today, it’s Brooklyn defensive tackle Thomas Holley.
Defensive tackle may not necessarily be a position of huge need, but after not taking a true tackle in the 2013 class (although 1 or 2 players could end up there), I expect PSU to take one in this class, assuming they find the right fit. Holley would certainly be that type of player. 247 gives him 4 stars, ranking him as the 21st best DT in the country, and 4th best player in New York. If those aren’t impressive to you, the list of offers (Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Notre Dame, Ole Miss) should be. If what he told ESPN after his visit to Happy Valley last month is any indication, the Lions will certainly be in the hunt for his services up until 2014 Signing Day.

Thomas just started playing football this year, giving up basketball. At 6’5″, 290 lbs., he still shows the quickness on his feet from the basketball court. With just 8 games of high school ball, and an offer list encompassing a “who’s who” of college football royalty, the sky is the limit for Holley. I can’t help but smile imagining LJ getting his hands on him.
