PSU Making Push To Keep O’Brien

As our dear friend Evil Bill O’Brien pointed out, welcome to the 2nd annual “Welcome to the 2nd Annual “Get Outraged at Bill O’Brien on the 1st Thursday of the Year Event.”

As Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported earlier this evening, Bill O’Brien did indeed interview with the Browns earlier this week, and numerous reports have linked the PSU coach to a number of the NFL’s seven current head coach openings.  Sports Illustrated’s Pete Thamel reported breaking news this evening that Penn State is making a significant push to keep their first year head coach.

According to Thamel’s report, the University has received a positive response from O’Brien and he is strongly considering staying.  PSU has “tugged at O’Brien’s heartstrings and attachment to the school that gave him his first head coaching job”.  Thamel indicates that emotional tie will be a key factor as O’Brien makes his decision.

The good news for PSU fans? Thursday is almost over.
